SkinCare for Spring Tips

Oh, spring! The season of renewal and rejuvenation. As we bid farewell to winter’s icy grip and welcome the warmer embrace of spring, our skin often goes through quite the rollercoaster ride. One day it’s battling harsh winds, the next it’s getting surprised by sudden rain showers, all while trying to navigate the fluctuating temperatures from warm to cool. Phew! No wonder our skin can feel a bit overwhelmed during this transitional period.

But fret not, dear skincare enthusiasts! I’ve got some simple tips to help your skin transition smoothly into springtime bliss:

Bodacious Body Oils - Skincare for SpringPin

1. Hydration is Key

Dry indoor heat and harsh winds can seriously dehydrate skin in early spring. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using a humidifier at home. Lock in moisture with a rich, natural body oil or body butter. My suggestion would be either our Lavender Sage or Frankincense & Myrrh Body Oil.

2. Exfoliate Regularly

Winter might have left your skin feeling a bit dull and dry. A gentle exfoliation routine can help slough off dead skin cells and reveal a brighter complexion underneath. Slough off dull, flaky surface cells and stimulate renewal by exfoliating 1-2 times per week.

If you feel that your complexion is getting a bit dull or needs a bit of a pick up you can add in our Face Scrub. For the body, dry brush before showering using firm, circular strokes.

We also offer Salt Glows and Sugar Scrubs for body care.

3. Sun Protection

As the sun starts making more frequent appearances, don’t forget your SPF! Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is crucial year-round.

We don’t make a sunscreen but with more outdoor exposure you need to protect your skin. Either actual sunscreen or with hats and clothing. Make the smart choice depending on your planned activities. 🏖 🌄

4. Easy Face Care Regimen

Good skin is easiest to achieve with a skin care routine that you can stick to. I have a super simple solution which is what I use myself. Cleanse and moisturize every morning and every night. I wash with our Carrot Seed Complexion Bar and then moisturize using our Antiaging Face Serum. Two steps and you’re done!

Lip Balm – Being out in the wind and sun can chap lips just as much as cold weather. We offer three different scents — Peppermint, Spearmint and Tea Tree.

5. Go Natural when Possible

All of our handmade soaps and skin care products are all natural. We use vegetable oils, no animal fats and esssential oils when creating them. I have mentioned a number of products throughout this post but one super simple way for natural head to toe bathing are our solid shampoo bars.

They are a one and done option and perfect for travel as well, not to mention sustainable.

Final Words for Spring Skincare!

I hope these spring skincare tips helped. The key point again is to cleanse, moisturize and protect your skin. Warmer weather takes us all outdoors which is great. More Vitamin D! 🌞

But regular maintenance is still key. Seeing results for your skin means finding a routine that works for you and you can stick to. It doesn’t do much good to be sporadic with your skin care. Slow and steady wins the race here.

You also need to keep your body moisturized from the inside out — ie. drink plenty of water as well as eat the right foods. Dive in and use these tips to look and feel your best while you do.
