Have you ever felt like your skin is lacking radiance? It could be that it’s time to switch up the products you are using. Many people don’t know this, but there are many essential oils that can be used on the face for glowing complexions! In this blog post, we will talk about 6 of our favorite essential oils and how they can help get your skin looking its best.
Table of contents
Carrot Seed Essential Oil
The first oil on our list is carrot seed essential oil. This oil contains both Vitamins A & C, giving it a host of antioxidants that help to protect your skin from free radicals.
It is a also considered a stimulant and a tonic which helps improve circulation. This is one of my favorite oils for glowing skin with excellent anti-aging properties.
Carrot seed oil is perfect for use on mature skin, as it can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. It is also a great choice for oily skin, as it helps to regulate sebum production.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense is another essential oil touted for its antioxidant properties by protecting against free radicals.
Free radicals break down collagen and lead to fine lines and wrinkles. By definition antioxidants are anti-inflammatory which means they help to boost your immune system and protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
Frankincense is also considered to have sedative actions. In other words it helps with tension and anxiety. Reducing your stress levels is yet another way towards clear smooth skin.
Frankincense oil has a warm, rich, sweet-balsamic scent uniquely its own. One of my personal favorites!!
Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium Essential Oil puts you in a good mood with just a sniff. It has a somewhat sweet, floral scent that is refreshing and uplifting.
It is also yet another essential oil that has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. We want to take every opportunity possible to fight those free radicals.
This is just part of what makes it beneficial your face. Geranium is a fabulous essential oil for helping to even out women’s hormonal ups and downs. My Susan’s Own Face Serum is what I used years ago to get rid of my adult acne and the geranium in the blend is a big part of what makes it so effective!
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils. It has a sweet, floral aroma that is calming and relaxing. Lavender oil can be used to promote restful sleep, ease anxiety and tension, and improve mood.
It also has a range of therapeutic properties, including antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and detoxifying effects. Additionally, lavender oil can be helpful for skin care issues such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and scars. It is beneficial for all skin types.
If you’re looking for an all-around useful essential oil, lavender is a great choice!
Patchouli Essential Oil
Patchouli essential oil is often used for skin care. It has many benefits that are perfect to help your skin look it’s best! Patchouli is another essential oil that can be helpful with acne, oily or dry skin types.
It is a versatile oil and is recommended for both dry and cracked skin as well as oily skin. I reach for it for help with dermatitis and eczema. It is also one of my favorite essential oils to use for moisturizing dry skin.
It has a rich, herbaceous-earthy scent. I show our Beard Oil here, because it is often considered a more masculine scent. But it is present in our Anti-Aging Face Serum as well.
Rose Absolute (Rosa x damascena) is a natural oil that has been used for its benefits as far back as Ancient Egypt. Due to the method of extraction is why this is an absolute instead of essential oil. Due to its fabulous scent and its price it is considered one of the “precious” essential oils.
Rose is particularly beneficial for dry skin, broken capillaries, wrinkles and mature complexions.
It is also very helpful in reducing stress and providing a sense of well being. I, myself have been using our Rose QBO to help get a better night’s sleep.
It’s so important for the health of your skin to keep it moisturized and hydrated. Essential oils for skin can be a great way to do that without adding chemicals into your routine. They can also help by bringing anti inflammatory properties and stress relief to the table. If you’ve been looking for a way to keep your face moisturized and get healthy, glowing skin, these products might be exactly what you need!
